Description
These are Newly-Hand-Made fiber bamboo needles, which are made of 100 to 200-year-old Japanese bamboo, calledSUSU DAKE
, which is extremely expensive. I had to order more susudake from Japan. The average price for one susudake bamboo is
about US0.00. It takes long long time to make this many.
They are
made
to
fit any triangle holes
of EMG or Victrola or Brunswick or HMV.These needles are for 78rpm records made of hard materials, not for vinyl. They also last longer than regular fiber needles.
DO NOT USE THESE FOR WORN-OUT RECORDS PLAYED WITH STEEL NEEDLES MANY TIMES. NOT FAIR IF YOU COMPLAIN THESE DON'T WORK FOR THE WORN-OUT!!!
(
These are for trianlugar needle sockets, not for round needles sockets.
)
If the records are worn out, which shows grey color in the groove, these needles are not for them, because worn-out records are almost like sandpaper to wear out the needle point quickly. The buy-it-now is actually very cheap, if you find out the real price on those
SUSU DAKE
.
Very hard to find those bamboo. Materials are so limited. They would be gone soon. In Japan one shop sells 10 pieces of this type of needles for about 30.00USD. Good luck.
You need to have a good
fiber needle cutter
to sharpen the point of the needle in order to play 8 to 12 times or more. It is essential to have one cutter. This needle is not only for one use like a steel needle, but you can use one for many times.
What you see is what you get. They are as is.

Dear hmv203,
I was able to test out the needle with my HMV 194 & Victor 8-30. Used classical and pop music for the tests. They compared well with the originals I have. Thank you so much for the work you put into making these.

Fast shipping; Excellent item. Many thanks.
Many more,,,,
Dear hmv203,
Hi, update here, it was the badly worn records that stopped the turntable! I used a practically new 78 and it sounded so soft, I wont be using the steel needles anymore except for those worn records! Great product, and thanks, I'll probably order more later. Frank
