    Description

    WWII British Royal Airforce Compass P.8.M. type. Comes with original wooden case.
    ((Listed compass is from the RAF/ RCAF stamped AM (Air Ministry) type P8M .
    The P8 was in common use from about 1937 and was used in the Spitfire, Hurricane, Tiger Moth, etc. and was replaced by the P11.
    There was also a version marked as the P8M (M for 'Modified with four cross hairs').
    Type P4, P6, P8 compasses Stores Ref. 6A/O.227, .367 and .726-These compasses had apparently the same shape))

    Also original Tag from National Defence is present. Compass is in working order.
    Size; box 7 x 7 x 4 1/2". Compass is -  5 1/2" diameter. 3" high.
    Has some minor wear to the base - see image. Very nice overall condition!
